Just for you!

I can't even believe it's already Nov. 1st! Have I mentioned how much I LOVE this time of year?!? I'm pretty sure I have, but I still don't think that's enough! So today I'm here to share another fall inspired card that I created.

I used products from the Mind the Gap kit by Studio Calico, a lace punch, lace trim and ribbon with scallop to create the feminine feel. The colors are ivory, green, orange and brown- perfect harvest inspired colors! The pumpkin in the background was actually picked during my visit to the Westport Rivers vineyard- which I posted about here. And speaking of fall, I think now that we are officially in November, I need to get started on my Thanksgiving inspiration board...so stay tuned, there will be more to come on that! xo

Saying Goodbye to 2010!

As 2010 draws to a close, I thought I would post my top 10 favorite creations of the year! One of my New Year's resolutions is to be more creative and CREATE more! My horoscope from this morning seems to be right on track for the New Year, so here's to staying on track and checking off my goals one by one until they are completed over this next year! We have to live life to its fullest, document our day to day lives as much as possible and cherish the time we have. With that said, here are my favorites;

One last thing...while blog hopping this morning I found this great poster (see below) here which originally came from this blog.

Stop by and check it out and get your own free download to put up as a reminder of great words to live by in 2011! Enjoy your NYE and be safe! See you next year! :-)

~Love is in the Air~

Hey there! So it's been a while since I've posted but I wanted to drop in a share a couple of lovely cards I've created lately. Tis the season for Love and Marriage, so why not!

This first card is an engagement card with a vintage/nostalgic feel. Vintage is always beautiful to me. The muted, rustic colors and the beautiful patterned floral papers. Vintage + Love = a match made in heaven if you ask me!

I created the shaped card by hand, with the good ol' pencil and exacto knife. (Those "old" tools will never grow out of style and are sometimes the most affordable, comfortable and accessible crafting tools you will ever own!) I then inked the edges using Tim Holtz vintage photo distressing ink. I cut out the title shape, inked the edges, used a rub-on from Cosmo Cricket's Beautiful You, then created the title sentiment and printed it out on Studio Paper ink jet transfers and rubbed it on for the finishing touch!

This next card is a little more "retro" with the black and white polk-a-dot patterned paper. I also gave it a more bold style adding the black borders around the edge of the title and front frame. The stitched bow with a flower button accent gives it a feminine touch. Very classic and as my husband said...it reminds you of lingerie. (Right up my alley! *wink*)

Hope these cards can be a source of inspiration for some of you! Enjoy.

Superhero Sunday

Yes...I'm posting, finally! Well it's been so hectic lately...I barely can find time to keep up around the house let alone keep up with my blog! My main wish would be to have more than 24hours in a day! I need it!! But hey...I need to thank my lucky stars that I'm able to post when I can! I'm just happy to have the chance.

So superheros are a part of my daily life, thanks to my loving husband. He's a HUGE fan of all things comic book related ESPECIALLY if it involves Superman, Batman or the Green Lantern! Haha. It's so cute sometimes...it brings out the kid in him...which is very sweet and innocent. We even recently bought a shelf from Ikea to house all of his comic books and actions figures nice and neatly in the living room. I of course added a couple frames and some vases to that shelf. (He can't hog it all...you know!?! After all, sharing is caring!)

I always know that when it comes to superheros, they will always make him smile so last year for his birthday I created a superman card. It came out really nice and it's something for him to add to his stash and he loved it!

Considering this first superhero card was a hit, I created one yesterday for my little cousin's 13th birthday. He has this knew found love for spiderman and we were giving him some first edition spiderman comic books, so I thought this card would be appropriate. To make it more personal I drew the spiderman by hand, which took a while but it was very rewarding once I finished to see how well it turned out. I was pretty impressed. Again, the superhero card was a hit. There may be more to come in the future...we'll see. Enjoy!

Leaving Already...

As of yesterday night, my roommates and I decided to try to get out of our lease early. Early as in May 1st instead of the original date of August 31st. It's crazy to think that in just 2 months I will be living in a new place and starting my new and hectic life! I've been stressing a lot lately but I'm trying to stay positive, hoping that everything works out for the best!

Chris gets out of the Marine Corps. in May, and we are hoping that soon after he will find a job. Although with this economy, its not going to be easy! Anyway...like I said "positive thoughts" which will hopefully lead to a positive outcome. Keep your fingers crossed for us and I'll keep you posted on our progress! *wink* In the mean time, take a look at a cute little card I made for the neighbors little baby who was christened today.

Love Notes

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and we are always looking for ways to express our love to the people we care for the most, with that said, I came up with a few cards today that I would like to share.
I used a Valentine's Day Themed paper pack that I found in the $1.00 Section at Target and some other holiday embellishments that I had lying around. There's nothing like paper crafting at virtually no cost! Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Holiday Spirit!

I know I'm a little late, but I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and will also have a Happy New Year!

It's been a VERY hectic holiday season for me, but with all my interest in scrapbooking and paper crafting, I thought I would try to personalize my contributions to this festive season. Unfortunately I didn't start to prepare far enough in advance this year (which I hope won't happen next year) but atleast I got a little taste for making my own Christmas creations!

I wanted to give everyone that I work closely with a little something to let them know that I was thinking of them, but didn't have much money to spend. Fortunately for me, one day I read a blog entry by Danielle Flanders at http://danielleflanders.blogspot.com/ called "Cookies-N-Cream" in her November entries and it inspired me to try and come up with my version of a festive holiday cookie present. She has a wonderful blog with great ideas that are so inspiring and unique (definitely stop in there if you haven't yet!). So here is my little take on the idea...
This is a cookie holder made with bristol board and covered with Christmas patterned paper. Inside the cookies are tucked into a festive holiday baggie and stapled to the back side of the holder. I made a variety of sugar cookies, oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip. They were the perfect treat for a workday snack!
I also successfully made some Christmas cards to send to family members. I used the Falala scrapbook pad by Making Memories to create and embellish the cards and they came out really nice but the most important part is that I had a lot of fun making them! Take a look...
